Picture yourself in the era of discoveries: after a long voyage of great deprivation, your ships have finally reached the coast of an uncharted island. Its name shall be Catan! But you are not the only discoverer. Other fearless seafarers have also landed on the shores of Catan: the race to settle the island has begun!
This new 5th edition of the classic family board game has a new look and name which has changed from Settlers of Catan to simply Catan. 4th and 5th editions are basically the same but the 5th edition has updated artwork on the fronts of the cards and tiles, the rule book has been revised to help new players and clarify some rules. 4th Edition games and expansions are compatible with the 5th Edition.
This is the base game for 3-4 players suitable for age 10+
To play with 5–6 players, the 5–6 player extension is required.
Catan - Seafarers expansion is available. In comparison to the base game this expansion is a little more advanced and requires clever trading, strategy, tactical skill and luck.
Catan – Cities & Knights Expansion is available. In comparison to the Base Game, this expansions requires a little more tactical and strategic skill and suits age 12+
Expansions can be combined to further enhance the base game.
